Writing Revelations 3: Making an Agent List

So you've finished that novel, now what? I'm still in the middle of the process myself, but I've decided to combine my last few months of learning into a super-ultra-quick-start on how to begin the agent hunting process! Like anything worthwhile, agent hunting takes time—lots of it! Good thing you like reading, because you are going to be doing a lot of it! But if you end up published, all that research will have been worth it, right? RIGHT. --->

Query Letter Reviews!

Ah! Nothing in this world feels better than receiving good critiques on your query letter's first go (and feeling like you've worked hard enough to earn them!)! I am so glad I took the time to really choose each of those 199 words as carefully as I did, agonizing over every sentence on my own before asking for review.

Writing Revelations 2: Query Critiques

Queries are importantthey are. I've seen people de-emphasize them (and I must admit I was a little flippant about them at first too), but really, your query letter is your first impression; if it isn't goodit's also your last. Dun! Dun! Dun!

Writing Revelations 1: Letting Go

I've learned so much this past year, that I thought I would share some of my epiphanies. I wanted to contain them in one post, but I've had too many revelations for that! I hope this mini-series will prove useful to someone.

Ok, I want to start out with the most important realization I've made within these last 12 months. Without it, I would still be treading in circles. I call this one: LEARN WHEN TO LET GO!

Timeline

Ok, since I am a little  extremely behind on starting this blog, I'm going to quickly do a review of these last few months. First, I suppose it would make sense to make a timeline, and mention the stats on the book I'm getting ready to pitch! I will update this when new stats are available! Oooo, charts!

Let the Adventure Begin!

Alright, so I've finally decided to do it. I've written a novel (not my first, but definitely the first worthy of seeing the light of day), revised and edited the heck out of it, found major plot-holes, filled those with excellent excuses, and now what’s left to do? Oh yes: go for my life-long dream of becoming a published writer!

I am going to document my literary agent (and beyond?) search on here, and who knows, maybe this blog will eventually be helpful to another hopeful. Let's hope my adventures will come with worship and fanart a happy ending!
